ISTN

(Intelligent STN) A passive image display technology from Varitronix, City of Industry, CA (www.vle.com) that adds a compensation film layer within the STN cell. Used for negative image displays, it is the same weight and size of an STN but exhibits the same electro-optic compensation to temperature as DSTN. See DSTN, ESTN and LCD types.
