Iamkun

 

a balneological health resort in Chita Oblast, RSFSR. Iamkun is located 220 km from the Borzia railroad station and 180 km from Sretensk. Summers are moderately warm, with an average July temperature of about 18°C, and winters are very cold, with an average January temperature of –29°C. Precipitation is 350 mm annually. Therapeutic remedies include carbonicacid hydrocarbonate calcium-magnesium water from Lake Iamkun. The water is warm (20°C) and slightly radioactive. Iamkun has a hospital for adults and children suffering from Urov disease. The resort also has a bathhouse.
