Iarroto

 

(also Iarato), the name of several lakes in northern Tiumen Oblast, RSFSR, on Yamal Peninsula:

(1) Lake Iarroto Pervoe has an area of 247 sq km and a maximum depth of 8 m. The Pravyi Iuribei River, a tributary of the Iuribei, flows from the lake.

(2) Lake Iarroto Vtoroe has an area of 154 sq km and a maximum depth of 8 m. The Levyi Iuribei River, a tributary of the Iuribei, flows from it. The lake is fed mainly by snow. It is icebound from October until June.
