Inktomi

(Inktomi Corporation, Foster City, CA, www.inktomi.com) A company that specializes in high-performance software for Internet service providers (ISPs), carriers and large websites. Founded in 1996, its family of products are used for caching Web pages, cataloging and searching the Web as well as providing comparison shopping. In late 2003, Inktomi was acquired by Yahoo!.
