a city (settlement until 1939), the center of Iolotan’ Raion, Mary Oblast, Turkmen SSR, in the Murgab River delta. Railroad station on the Mary-Kushka line. Population, 13,800 (1971). Iolotan’ has a cotton-ginning factory.
