Iperf

(networking, tool)
A tool to measure maximum TCP bandwidth, allowing the tuning of various parameters and UDP characteristics. Iperf reports bandwidth, delay jitter, and datagram loss. An IPv6 version is also available.

Latest version: 1.7.0, as of 2004-01-18.

Gibbs, Iperf: The TCP/UDP Bandwidth Measurement Tool, http://dast.
The measurement is conducted by increasing transmission rate of UDP with 1,500-byte packet by iperf. Since we find that 8 Mbps is the maximum capacity of a channel (packet loss rate is less than 1%) in advance, we here use this traffic rate to measure the network capacity of our WBN.
- NetX Duo Iperf Throughput Demoshows how TCP and UDP network throughput can be benchmarked using Express Logic's NetX Duo IPv4/IPv6 dual-TCP/IP stack using the industry-standard Iperf network throughput benchmark.
Notice that SPSS has entered into the regression equation three variables: INPROC, IPERF and IIT that are significantly correlated with CKM.
Laptops were located at each end of the connection, running the Iperf software for throughput tests (UDP packets were used for transmission).
(5) 60 times faster: Measured using iperf between Tokyo and California.
The experiment uses IPerf, a Linux network tool, to test the max bandwidth and minimum response time of two hosts, which use the TCP and UDP network connection, respectively.
