Irapuato

(ēräpwä`tō), city (1990 pop. 265,042), Guanajuato state, W central Mexico, on the Irapuato River. It is the commercial and communications center of the surrounding mining and agricultural (cereals and cattle) region. The fruits and flowers of Irapuato's luxurious gardens are famous throughout Mexico.

Irapuato

 

a city in Mexico, in the state of Guanajuato; located in the southern part of the Meseta Central Plateau in the basin of the Lerma River. Population, 176,000 (1970). Railroad and highway junction.

Irapuato processes the agricultural produce of the El Bajio region. The city produces food (three-fourths of the value of its industrial production), textiles, leather footwear, and chemicals.

Collections of specimens were made at the experimental agricultural field of the Universidad de Guanajuato, Campus Irapuato-Salamanca (20[degrees]44>36[much greater than]N, 101[degrees]19>35[much greater than]W; 1,739 m asl)in Irapuato, Guanajuato, and at the experimental field of Universidad de La Salle Bajio (21[degrees]3>15[much greater than]N, 101[degrees]36>42[much greater than]W; 1,812 m) in Leon, Guanajuato.
This portfolio comprises 17 industrial properties and two land reserves located in the cities of San Luis Potosi, Irapuato, Monterrey, Ciudad Juarez and Reynosa with a 90.5% occupancy rate and will contribute a total of 1.9 m square feet of gross leasable area and 4.3 m square feet from the land reserves.

Con base en las experiencias anteriores, y debido a la poca informacion disponible sobre el control de maleza en tomate de cascara en Mexico, se planteo la presente investigacion con el objetivo de evaluar en el ciclo primavera-verano de 2008, el control de la maleza de hoja ancha y angosta, y el dano de los herbicidas aplicados en pre-emergencia al cultivo de tomate de cascara de riego y siembre directa, en Irapuato, Gto., Mexico.
