Iuzhnyi Alichur

 

a mountain range in the southern Pamirs, in the Tadzhik SSSR. The range measures approximately 150 km in length and rises to an elevation of 5,706 m at Mount Kyzyldangi. It is composed chiefly of granites, gneisses, and schists. On the slope of the range are high-mountain desert landscapes with glaciers and firn fields covering about 68 sq km.
