Janis, Byron (b. Yankelevitch)

(1928–  ) pianist; born in McKeesport, Pa. After private studies he made a successful debut in 1943 with the National Broadcasting Company Orchestra. He went on to a distinguished international career, later playing despite severe arthritis.
