Jaunjelgava

 

a city in Stučka Raion, Latvian SSR. Jaunjelgava is located on the left bank of the Daugava (Zapadnaia Dvina) River, 5 km from the Skriveri railroad station on the Riga-Daugavpils line. In addition to a logging and timber distribution establishment, the city has shops of the Rīgas Apgērbs Production Association, which manufactures outerwear, and the Darba Spars Production Association, which manufactures metal housewares.
