Jima

 

a city in southwestern Ethiopia; administrative center of the general-governorship (province) of Kefa. Located at an altitude of 1,740 m. Population, 29,000 (1967). Jima, connected by highway with Addis Ababa, also has an airfield. It is a trade center (coffee, fruits, and pelts) and the site of a plywood factory, a small sawmill, and food enterprises.
