Aul, Juhan Mihkelevich

 

Born Oct. 3 (15), 1897, in Piarnu Raion, Estonian SSR. Soviet anthropologist and zoologist; doctor of biological sciences (1948); Professor at the University of Tartu since 1957.

Aul is the author of research on the anthropology of modern Estonians, Russians in Estonia, Swedes, Latvians, Ingrians, and Udmurts. He is also concerned with problems of physical development in children and adolescents.
