Kachug

Kachug
an urban-type settlement, center of Kachug Raion, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR. Kachug is situated on both banks of the Lena River, 257 km northeast of Irkutsk, with which it is linked by a motor road (the former Yakutsk Road). A landing on the Lena River, it has a shipyard (river tankers). It also has enterprises for the production of furniture, a logging and timber distribution establishment, and livestock-raising sovkhozes.
