The report found that markets where buyers using down-payment-assistance programs could get the biggest dollar savings compared with buyers not using such programs were Kauai County, HI ($80,148 in total savings over the life of the loan); Placer County, CA ($78,539); San Francisco County, CA ($77,411); Orange County, CA ($74,268); and Shasta County, CA ($70,806).
