Kelley, Emmett

(1898–1977) clown; born in Sedan, Kans. He was over 40 when his sad-faced hobo in oversized rags, "Weary Willie," found a home under the Ringling Brothers big top (1942–55) and made Kelley the most celebrated American clown of his era.
