Kenna, John (Edward)

(1848–93) U.S. representative senator; born in Kanawha County, Va. A confederate veteran and lawyer before going to the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Va.; 1877–83) and the Senate (1883–93), he opened the Kanawha River to commercial shipping.
