a city (since 1949) in Zagorsk Raion, Moscow Oblast, RSFSR. Railroad station 60 km north of Moscow. Population, 20,000 (1974). Khot’kovo produces electrical and thermal insulating materials and experimental bridge construction units. The Lakokraspokrytie Association specializes in research and the production of laquer, paint, and coating materials. Enterprises in the city also produce knitwear, carved souvenirs, and objets d’art. Educational institutions include an agricultural technicum and the Abramtsevo Industrial Arts School. The nearby estate of Abramtsevo is open as a museum.
