Kïïm

 

(Spark), the daily newspaper of the Yakut ASSR, published in Yakutsk in the Yakut language. The first issue of the newspaper was published on Dec. 28, 1921, under the name Manchaarï, the name of a Yakut national hero. It was renamed Kïïm in 1923. The newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1971. Circulation, approximately 40,000 (1973).
