Kizhner Reaction

 

the preparation of substituted cyclopropanes by thermal dissociation of pyrazolines. The latter are formed during the action of hydrazine on α, β-unsaturated aldehydes or ketones. The general reaction for ketones is

The reaction was discovered by N. M. Kizhner [Kishner] in 1912.
