Location:6 miles north of Blakely off US 27.
Facilities:43 tent/trailer/RV campsites (é), pioneer campgrounds, group camp, 7 picnic shelters, 2 group shelters, trails (5 miles), swimming pool, 2 lakes, boat ramp, dock, boat and canoe rentals, miniature golf course, museum, gift shop, amphitheater.
Activities:Camping, boating (10 HP limit), fishing, swimming, hiking, astronomy programs (seasonal).
Special Features:Park is an important archeological site as well as a scenic recreational area. Seven mounds within the park were built around 250-950 AD by the Swift Creek and Weeden Island Indians. The mounds include Georgia's oldest great temple mound, two burial mounds, and four ceremonial mounds. The park's museum is partially situated inside an excavated mound, providing an unusual setting for viewing artifacts.
