Korotych

 

an urban-type settlement in Kharkov Raion, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 16 km southwest of Kharkov. A railroad station. There are industrial enterprises of local significance, but most of the population of Korotych works in Kharkov.

Yurii Boldyrev, a leader of the Donetsk miners and himself close to the liberal Interregional Group of the Supreme Soviet, recently told an interviewer that the 'Democratic Platform' (the liberal-social democratic fraction in the CPSU), Travkin (leader of a new People's liberal Party) or Korotych's (liberal) magazine (Ogonoek) have no real future in the labour movement." He said that the labour movement will take its own path and he warned that some of its fellow travellers may share the fate of the Russian intellegentsia after October 1917.
