Koulikoro

 

a city in Mali, located on the left bank of the Niger River. Population, 12,600 (1969). Terminus of a railroad line from Dakar (in Senegal). A river port, Koulikoro is the starting point for navigation along the Middle Niger. The city has an oil-pressing mill (used primarily for peanut oil).

The mosque was built in the village of Otabogo in Koulikoro and benefited the entire population, comprising around 1,600 people.
