Krasnoe Znamia
an urban-type settlement in lolotan’ Raion, Mary Oblast, Turkmen SSR, situated on the left bank of the Murgab River, 9 km north of the Imam-Baba railroad station (on the Mary-Kushka line). Krasnoe Znamia has two karakul-breeding sovkhozes.
Krasnoe Znamia
(Red Banner), a Russian-language daily republic newspaper of the Komi ASSR. Published in Syktyvkar, it was founded on June 10, 1918, under the name of Zyrianskaia zhizn ’ (Zyrian Life). The newspaper was renamed several times and became Krasnoe znamia in 1955. In 1968, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its first issue, Krasnoe znamia was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. Circulation, 70,000 (1972).
