Krasnovishersk

 

a city, the administrative center of Krasnovishersk Raion, Perm’ Oblast, RSFSR. A landing on the left bank of the Vishera River (a tributary of the Kama) 100 km north of the Solikamsk railroad station. Population, 15,000 (1970).

Krasnovishersk was founded in 1930 when construction was begun on a huge pulp-and-paper processing complex. It became a city in 1942.
