Kruegerware

Software that degrades or destroys a computer. Also called a "Kruegerapp," the term may refer to spyware or page hijacking software that is difficult to remove. The name comes from Freddy Krueger, the gruesome character from the horror series "Nightmare on Elm Street." See spyware, page hijacking and wares.
