Kul’tura I Zhyttia

 

(Culture and Life), a republic-wide Ukrainian-language newspaper of the Ukrainian SSR; the organ of the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR and the Republic Committee of the Trade Union of Cultural Workers.

Kul’tura i zhyttia has been published in Kiev since 1945, originally under the title Radians’ke mystetstvo, then as Radians’ka kul’tura (from 1955), and under its present title since April 1965. It comes out twice a week and provides news about cultural construction in the republic; the activities of theaters, film studios, and cultural-educational institutions; and the work of artists and composers. Circulation, 64,000 (1973).
