An antenna that consists of an elevated horizontal wire having a vertical down-lead connected at one end.

An L-shaped antenna for operations in the VHF (very high frequency) band of frequencies. This type of antenna is used on light aircraft. It can be mounted either on the top or the bottom of the fuselage.
