Lake Taghkanic State Park


Location:Adjacent to the Taconic State Parkway, 1 mile south of the Route 82 interchange.
Facilities:Tent and trailer campsites, camping cabins (é), showers, 3 vacation rental cottages, picnic areas, picnic pavilions (é), playground, playing fields, food concession (é), multi-use trails (10 miles), 2 beaches, boat launch, boat rentals.
Activities:Camping, boating (no power boats), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, sledding, bow hunting for deer and turkey (in season), recreation programs.
Special Features:Park is located alongside Lake Taghkanic in the rolling hills and lush forests of Columbia County. The campgrounds were ranked among the top 100 in the US in 2005.
