Lanchkhuti

 

a city (until 1961, a settlement) and the center of Lanchkhuti Raion, Georgian SSR. Population, 8,000 (1970).

Lanchkhuti is situated in the southern part of the Kolkhida Lowland. It is a railroad station on the Samtredia-Batumi line. It has a tea factory, a meat and dairy combine, a cannery, and brick and tile plants. There is an agricultural technicum in the city.
