Land Surveying Office
a government establishment in Moscow Province for conducting general land surveying. It was organized in 1765 and in the 1770’s became the principal working agency for land surveying. The Land Surveying Office managed the branch survey offices, checked and ratified land survey plans and books, and collected and stored in its archives the original copies of all documents.
