Laoag

 

a city in the Philippines, in the northwestern part of the island of Luzon, on the Laoag River. Laoag is the administrative center of the province of Ilocos Norte. Population, 68,000 (1970). A highway links Laoag with Manila. Local industries include the processing of agricultural produce, such as rice and tobacco, and weaving.
