Larreta, Enrique Rodríguez

Larreta, Enrique Rodríguez (ānrēˈkā rôᵺrēˈgāth lärrāˈtä), 1875–1961, Argentine novelist. Larreta lived for many years in Spain and France. His fame rests on La gloria de don Ramiro (1908, tr. 1924), a historical novel of the days of Philip II. It is a classic of the polished modernista genre. Larreta's other novels include the gaucho story Zogoibi (1926) and En la pampa (1955).
