LeClercq, Tanaquil

(1929–  ) ballet dancer; born in Paris. Trained at the School of American Ballet, in 1946 she joined Ballet Society, which became New York City Ballet. One of its most exciting soloists, her career was cut short when she contracted polio in 1956.
