legacy portA socket (jack) for a type of connection that is no longer used. USB replaced many legacy ports, mostly on PCs, but also on the Mac. See plugs and sockets, USB and port.

|The ports in "red italic" are no longer used. DVI and DisplayPort have replaced VGA for monitor connections; however, VGA may be used on low-cost desktop PCs or on laptops for compatibility with external data projectors. "S-video Out" and "TV out" are analog video outputs, which have been replaced by HDMI. See PC input/output.|
