Lehmer, Derrick Henry

(1905–  ) mathematician; born in Berkeley, Calif. A Cambridge University professor (1940–72) and professor emeritus of mathematics at the University of California: Berkeley (1972), he is known for work in numbers theory, computing devices, mathematical tables, and other aids to computation.
