Leighly, John

Leighly, John (Barger)

(1895–1986) geographer; born in Adams County, Ohio. He taught at the University of California: Berkeley (1923–60). He published widely on a variety of subjects, with his work in meteorology and climatology gaining special attention. He edited Land and Life: A Selection from the Writings of Carl Ortwin Sauer (1963, 1967).
