Lesistyi Range

 

the lowest forward ridge of the northern slope of the Greater Caucasus in its western and central regions. It consists of a cuesta formed by Neocene limestone-shell and conglomerates. Elevations reach 900 m. Between the Kuma and Baksan rivers the range is interrupted (Mineral’nye Vody Raion). The ridge is generally forested.
