Lewis, Warren K.

(1882–1975) chemical engineer, educator; born in Laurel, Del. On the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1910–48), he was a leader in establishing chemical engineering as a discipline. His own work advanced the production and refining of petroleum.
