Lezghinka

 

a folk dance of the Lezghians known throughout the Caucasus. The Kabardins, Ossets, Avars, Chechens, Ingush, and other peoples have their own versions of the dance. It is done in 6/8 time; the melody is distinct and dynamic, and the tempo quick. The lezghinka is a competitive dance that allows male dancers to demonstrate their dexterity, virtuosity, and endurance.
