Likhovskoi

 

an urban-type settlement in Rostov Oblast, RSFSR, 24 km southwest of the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinskii. A major railroad junction (Likhaia) at the intersection of the Moscow-Rostov-on-Don and the Volgograd-Kharkov lines. Population, 15,000 (1970). Likhovskoi has railroad-transport enterprises and enterprises of local importance. Coal is mined and building stone is quarried in the area.
