Line Symbol Method

 

one of the cartographic methods of representation. The method is used to represent linear features (watershed divides, tectonic fractures, communications lines, and political and administrative borders), the linear extent of objects not expressed in the map scale (rivers, roads), and border zones, including the coastal zone and zonal boundaries of soils and vegetation.
