Llobregat

 

a river in northeastern Spain. The Llobregat is 150 km long. It originates in the eastern Pyrenees, crosses the Catalonian Mountains, and flows into the Mediterranean Sea south of Barcelona. There is winter and spring flooding; low water occurs in midsummer. A hydroelectric power plant and the city of Manresa are located on the river. The Llobregat is not navigable.
