Lloyd, James (Tighman)

(1857–1944) U.S. representative; born in Canton, Mo. A sheriff and prosecuting attorney, he went to the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Mo.; 1897–1917), serving as minority whip for eight years before leaving to practice law in Washington, D.C.
