Mid-2005 saw Thales select the Lynux-Works LynxOS real-time operating system to power its PowerEngine7 high-performance, low-power consumption single-board computer (SBC) as a major subsystem component for a selection of airborne communication controllers.
This process is made easiest with other open standards-based or POSIX-conformant OSes such as LynuxWorks' LynxOS real-time operating system (RTOS) and LynxOS-178 safety-critical RTOS, since the host OS would need to intercept Linux system calls in order for a port to be possible.
Also included in Radstone's COTS software support are BSPs (board support packages) and ESPs (enhanced support packages) for WindRiver's VxWorks, and LynuxWorks' LynxOS. BCS is delivered as part of the ESP.
