M-JPEG
(Motion-JPEG) Before the MPEG moving picture format became a standard, several Motion JPEG formats were created to tie consecutive JPEG still frames together. Motion JPEG does not use interframe compression as does MPEG and is therefore easier to edit (see interframe coding). For compatibility, video editors may support one of the Motion JPEG methods. For faster editing, MPEG can also be encoded without interframe compression. See MPEG.Copyright © 1981-2019 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved.
