MP2

(MPEG-1 Audio Layer II) An audio compression technology that is part of the MPEG-1 standard. Used in earlier Video CDs as well as digital broadcasting outside the U.S., MP2 provided the foundation for the widely used MP3 format. See MP3 and MPEG.
