Maclaurin’s Series

the historically incorrect name (after C. Maclaurin) for a power series of the form

where f(0),f’(0),f”(0),…,f(n)(0),…are values of the given function f(x) and its successive derivatives for x = 0. The series was obtained by the British mathematician B. Taylor (published in 1715) but was known to Maclaurin. Maclaurin’s series is a special case of a Taylor’s series.
