Mansurah, Al-

 

a city in Egypt, in the northeastern Nile delta, on the right bank of the Dumyat (Damietta) branch. Capital of the muhafazah (governorate) of al-Daqahliyah. Population, 212,300 (1970). Al-Mansurah is a transportation hub. The city’s industries include food-processing and the production of cotton cloth.
