Martuni

 

an urban-type settlement and center of Martuni Raion, Armenian SSR, on the southern shore of Lake Sevan, 68 km southeast of the Sevan railroad station and 130 km east of Yerevan. Population 7,900 (1973). It has a cannery, a cheese factory, a rug-weaving factory, and a branch of an electric bulb factory. There is fishing.


Martuni

 

an urban-type settlement and center of Martuni Raion, Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast, Azerbaijan SSR. It is located on the eastern slopes of the Karabakh Range, 41 km east of Stepanakert and 60 km northwest of the Goradiz railroad station on the Baku-Dzhul’fa line. Martuni has a grape-processing plant and a creamery.
