Masisi, Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe,

1962–, Botswanan political leader. An educator, he studied in the United States and Great Britain, then worked for the United Nations Children's Fund (1995–2003). He first entered Botswana's parliament in 2009 as a member of the Botswana Democratic party. Masisi served as minister for public affairs and presidential administration (2011–14), minister of education and skills development (2014–18), and vice president (2014–18) under President Seretse Khama Ian KhamaKhama, Seretse Khama Ian
, 1953–, Botswanan political leader and military officer, president of Botswana (2008–18); eldest son of Botswana's first president, Sir Seretse Khama. Like his father, he became (1979), by virtue of birth, chief of the Ngwato.

. In 2018 he became president of Botswana when Khama resigned. Later opposed by Khama after he moved against corruption and broke with some of Khama's policies, Masisi was elected to a full term in 2019.
